FAQ

How should I prepare for treatment?

It is important to stop all tweezing and waxing as soon as possible! The only acceptable method for hair removal is shaving but do not shave for at least three days prior to an appointment. I need to be able to see the hairs in order to effectively treat them; therefore, I need a few millimeters of growth which is usually achieved by not shaving for a few days.

How can I get the best results from electrolysis?

It is important to stay on a consistent schedule to get the best and quickest results. When first starting treatment, this will usually mean having longer, weekly sessions; however, as more and more hairs are treated, appointments will begin to be spread out wider and become shorter.

Does electrolysis hurt?

There will be discomfort associated with treatment; however, most people find it tolerable. If the discomfort is not tolerable, treatment settings can be adjusted to make it more comfortable.

What should I know about aftercare?

After a session, it is important to avoid touching the area as much as possible. Please avoid the sun and do not submerge the area in water. If the treated area was on the face, please avoid using makeup for at least 24 hours. It is normal for the area to be a little red or swollen after treatment. You can use aloe or ice to help reduce any inflammation. In rare instances the area may develop little scabs. If this occurs, please do not pick at the scabs, let your skin heal!
